New York City

Yesterday, Mommy, Daddy and I and some friends went to New York to see the giant Christmas tree and all the lights and decorations. It was a busy and fun day! It all started by driving to Princeton, NJ and getting on the train to go into the city. The train went very fast, and before I knew it we were there looking at all the tall buildings!

Our first stop was at the Empire State Building...now that's a tall one!

We saw a lot of Christmas trees and blinking lights, but there was one tree that was bigger and brighter than all the rest. It was so big that the whole tree wouldn't fit in our pictures!

At ToysRUs, I got to meet Geoffrey. He was a little scary! I had more fun playing with the Leap Frog toys...

At FAO Schwartz, I got to see the BIG piano...

...and Devon, Morgan and Tamsin even got to play on it!

We were able to see so much! I'm glad I didn't take a nap because I didn't want to miss anything. And can you believe it was 62 degrees on December 15th?! That was nice!

I can't wait to go back to NYC next year!

Our Christmas Tree

Last Saturday, I went with Mommy and Daddy, the Whitneys and the Kempers to get our Christmas tree. We went to a tree farm and had to cut it down ourselves! We sure picked a cold day to go...it was 29 degrees outside! But my cousin, Aidan, and I stayed nice and warm. Uncle Todd pulled us around in a wagon that was filled with cozy blankets!

Here we are in front of our tree at the farm...

and here is Daddy cutting it down...

Once we got home (and after lots of hot chocolate and coffee!), we decorated our tree...

I was so excited about the tree and all the pretty lights! I wanted to get up close so I could get a better look. But when I did, I got pricked by one of the needles...it hurt really bad! I decided after that happened that I would only look at the tree from a distance! That made it very hard for Mommy and Daddy to get a picture of me next to the tree...

They had to bribe me by putting some of my "toys" next to the tree, so I would go over and get them. Here I am with Finnie's bone and Mommy's cell phone...

...and looking at my Elmo ornament...

That's the closest I've been to the tree since the needle incident. I wish I was warned ahead of time that the needles are pointy and hurt when you touch them!

It's okay, though, I'm having fun looking at the tree from a distance. I really love the lights and the shiny ornaments and tinsel. I hear that there will be presents under the tree soon...

My Baby Cousin

My cousin, Jamison, was born last week. Last night, Mommy, Daddy and I went to his house to see him. Aunt Tracie, Uncle Rob and Julia were there too. He is so cute! I wanted to play with him, but he was asleep most of the time. Mommy said he's too little to play, but he'll be able to play when he gets bigger. So, all I could do was look at him and give him kisses. Aunt Tracie thinks that he'll catch up to my weight pretty soon...he's a big boy!

Finnie and Me

I love my dog, Finn, but he always runs away from me when I get close to him...especially when I'm walking. I think he was more comfortable around me when I was on all fours like him! I try to kiss him everyday, but he won't let me.

The other day was different, though...HE tried to kiss ME! I'm not sure why, but I'm guessing I had some food on my face...or maybe he really does like me...I don't know for sure, but I'll take what I can get! Mommy got a picture of it...

It was great to feel Finnie's little wet nose on my face. I hope this means that he's not scared of me anymore!

(I'm wearing a hat because I was trying on the hat that Daddy and Mommy bought for me. Mommy took it back, though, because it was too small...)

Playing in My Room

Mommy got a video of me stacking the rings on one of my toys. Check it out:

I love hanging out and playing with the toys in my room. It's usually easy for Mommy to get me to smile when I'm having fun!

My Potty

Mommy and Daddy got me my own little potty yesterday. They said that I'm showing signs that I can start to potty train soon. I don't know about this...I love my Elmo diapers...but I did have fun sitting on my potty in the bathroom...

My Favorite Things This Week

I have to tell everyone that I love Elmo! He is so cute and he is a lot of fun! I have Elmo books that I love to read and even Elmo toys that my cousin Cory gave to me (thank you, Cory!). When I'm out shopping with Mommy, I see Elmo at the store and call out his name. Sometimes when I see something red I think it's Elmo, but Mommy tells me that it's just something that's the same color as Elmo.

Here I am saying his name:

And here I am playing with one of my Elmo toys:

The other thing that I love now is climbing on the sofa. That's a lot of fun too! I can get up all by myself. I like to jump on the sofa and walk across the cushions. But Daddy and Mommy said that I can't do it anymore because I might fall and hurt myself (I had a close-call the other day, but Mommy caught me!). So, I guess I won't be doing this anymore...

I'm Officially a Walker!

I've been taking steps for about 2 weeks now...2 here, 4 there...but it wasn't until the past few days that I really started moving. I got a lot of practice at Aunt Patti's this week. I found out that hardwood floors are great for practicing! I'll have to admit, I still like crawling...I can get around a lot faster that way, and I don't have to worry about falling. But I'm sure I'll get better and better at walking, and then I won't have to crawl anymore.

Check out my latest video (and it's not sideways!):

Other News:

I got a new bathtub. It's a giant ducky that quacks! I have a lot of fun at bathtime now!

A Fun-Filled Day

Yesterday was a very fun day. It started out by me walking! I did it...I took 6 steps!! Then right after that, I took 4 steps! Mommy ran to get the camera, but the batteries died when she tried to get a video. She was able to get one video of me taking 2 steps, though. Sorry it's sideways...Mommy turned the camera to the side so you could see my feet, and she didn't know how to fix it! Take a look, turn your head to the side and imagine me taking 4 more steps! :)

I'm still a little shakey and haven't taken many steps since. I know I need to practice! Mommy and Daddy have been helping me...

Yesterday afternoon I went to the Fall Fest at Freddy Hill Farms with Mommy and Daddy and some friends. It was very fun! I went through a corn maze and down a big slide, got to sit on a tractor and even got to see a bunch of real pigs (they were very smelly!). I also got to check out the pumpkin patch and the "haypen".

I wouldn't touch the pumpkins...I just wanted to crawl around!

Yesterday was a great day! Mommy and Daddy said that they'll always remember the day when I walked for the first time!

How I Spent My Time Last Week...

I was pretty busy over the last week, so I figured I should take the time to catch you up on all that I was doing. No, I'm not walking yet, but it shouldn't be too much longer!

First, I stayed with my friend, Bronwyn (and her family!), for a few days while Daddy and Mommy went away, and then I went to Massachusetts for my Great-Grandma Rose's 90th birthday party. I even got to go to New Hampshire to meet a new friend...Raelyn--she's the little sister of my friend, Jonah...their mommy went to college with my Mommy and Daddy. We spent a lot of time driving in the car, but it was worth it because we got to see so many people!

I got to spend a lot of time with aunts and uncles and cousins...that's always fun! Even my new cousin, Aidan, was there. I know I'm going to have a lot of fun playing with her...the two of us are the same age! Daddy read a bedtime story to us when we were at the Dyrli's.

That's the only picture I have of our time away (don't blame me...Mommy and Daddy are in charge of the camera!). I do have some other pictures, though, of what I was up to last Monday while we were getting ready for our time away...

So, I told you I'm not walking yet, but that's because I'm having too much fun CLIMBING!

Mommy found me up on the coffee table last week. When Daddy saw me, he got a picture and then figured out how I got up there...

I put my bus on the floor by the table and used it to climb up!

After I got up on the table I had to find some other things that I could climb...

What's Been Going on at Home

I've been spending a lot of time at home this week, and it's been nice. On Sunday, I was all geared up to watch the Eagles game until I found out it was on after I go to bed!

And I heard that they lost too. Boooooo!

I've also been finding a lot of things around the house to play with. The remote controls have always been a favorite, but check out what else I found this week! Why do Mommy and Daddy buy me toys when I can just play with their stuff?!

I love how socks feel on my teeth! Oh, I should mention that my 7th tooth is coming in!

I do have a real toy that I've been playing with this week, though. It's a purse that Aunt Tracie gave to me. I like to put things in it and carry it around.
The big smile is because I stood up for the picture all by myself! I'm really getting the hang of it....Maybe my next post will be about me walking...

I've Mastered the Stairs!

Daddy and Mommy have let me climb the stairs for a while now, but they would never let me go DOWN them...until just recently. I'm pretty good at getting down the stairs FAST! Mommy tried to catch me yesterday before I got to the stairs, but I was too quick...I just slid right down on my belly!

Check out this video of me going down the stairs. I was taking my time going down because I knew Mommy was filming me (I had to make sure everyone could see me and not just a blur!)...I even stopped on the way to wave at Finnie who was watching me from the living room...

Mommy wanted me to say "Hi," but I didn't...sorry Mommy. But I did say "Hi" when she played the camera back to me! :)

Our Trip to Colorado

Last week Mommy, Daddy and I went to Colorado to celebrate Mommy and Daddy's 10th anniversary. We got to see a lot and even got to visit with some friends while we were there!

I have to tell you all about our fun trip:

First, we flew in a big airplane from Philly to Denver. That was fun...Mommy and Daddy said I did a great job on the flight! Here I am with Daddy on the plane...

Then, we picked up our rental car and drove to Colorado Springs. We saw the Air Force Academy (Daddy drove down a restricted road there...you'll have to ask him about it!) and then went to the Garden of the Gods.

The next day we drove to the Royal Gorge Bridge. There was a little train there that I got to sit in...

Then, it was off to Vail to see the slopes (minus the snow!). We got to see so many huge mountains while we were driving...some of those had snow on them! We stopped in Breckenridge on the way where I got to eat a crepe and test out my new Nike shoes...

After spending the night in Vail, we took a long car drive to Rocky Mountain National Park. There were really tall mountains there! Mommy and Daddy kept stopping to take pictures...

Once we got through the park, we went to visit our friends, the Gillmores. I had a lot of fun there playing with their five boys! They watched me while Mommy and Daddy stayed a night in Denver.

Mommy and Daddy said that they had fun in Denver. They really liked the tour they took of Coors Field.

We had so much fun in Colorado, but we're happy to be home. It was nice to see a different part of the country. It's just a little hard getting used to being in different time zones...I'm still on Mountain Time!
